Christmas Traditions stay forever

So I've read the 12 Christmas Traditions from around the world and it seems like each country has their own tradition and it is very unique as I said.

Like them, our family has also some traditions ( I will list 5 actually) that is very Filipino and that symbolizes our unity as a family.

  • Exchanging gifts.
It is our yearly tradition, not just in our family, but in our compound. We exchange gifts to the person we've picked from the raffle. It is very exciting because we didn't know who picked us. Hahahahaha.
  • Christmas Party
Yes, we do also have a Christmas Party, a yearly party, I think it started before 1999 (not born yet haha) and until now (so there is forever).
  • Eating Noche Buena together
It is very Filipino to eat with your family in a Noche Buena dinner <3 <3 <3
  • Attending a Christmas Eve Mass together
Filipinos are known for being a devoted Roman Catholic and attending Christmas Eve Mass is no big deal. Yes, we also do that as a family.
  • Compound-Aguinaldo Sharing
Yes, it is my favorite tradition for our whole family. Christmas morning, some of my tita and tito will sit in front of our compound with some bucket of 20 Pesos and 50 Pesos and us, will line up in front of them and will get the money and say "Thank you!' Hahahaha. It is very memorable every year.

So, what are the some of your family tradition every Christmas? Hope you'll like it.

  1. We also live in a compound. Somehow, it feels more festive when Christmas is celebrated with the extended family. More people, more noise, more food, more stories to tell.
