Christmas Traditions stay forever

So I've read the 12 Christmas Traditions from around the world and it seems like each country has their own tradition and it is very unique as I said.

Like them, our family has also some traditions ( I will list 5 actually) that is very Filipino and that symbolizes our unity as a family.

  • Exchanging gifts.
It is our yearly tradition, not just in our family, but in our compound. We exchange gifts to the person we've picked from the raffle. It is very exciting because we didn't know who picked us. Hahahahaha.
  • Christmas Party
Yes, we do also have a Christmas Party, a yearly party, I think it started before 1999 (not born yet haha) and until now (so there is forever).
  • Eating Noche Buena together
It is very Filipino to eat with your family in a Noche Buena dinner <3 <3 <3
  • Attending a Christmas Eve Mass together
Filipinos are known for being a devoted Roman Catholic and attending Christmas Eve Mass is no big deal. Yes, we also do that as a family.
  • Compound-Aguinaldo Sharing
Yes, it is my favorite tradition for our whole family. Christmas morning, some of my tita and tito will sit in front of our compound with some bucket of 20 Pesos and 50 Pesos and us, will line up in front of them and will get the money and say "Thank you!' Hahahaha. It is very memorable every year.

So, what are the some of your family tradition every Christmas? Hope you'll like it.

No Man is an Island

No one in this world can ever live alone, yes, we do need someone to help us but sometimes pride attacks. Pride is one of the seven deadliest sins, we do all know that. Pride plays to ourselves when we are so reluctant.

Who knows 'The Song of Roland'? The part where Roland was able to call for help to fight against the enemies, but he hesitated, it seems like pride tricked him as well because he died. Thinking of the times that I was like Roland, I hesitated to call for help because I think I can do it alone but then again I failed. I am hesitating to ask for help because of my pride, pride played me very well, it commanded me, I just failed to stop it and so I failed also. I regret those times also I just learned that if you can not do it alone, call for help, there is someone who always wanted to help you.

But who knows the time when you need someone to help you? In the end, yourself will help you the most.

That Thing Called Existence

We are born in this world because we have our own purposes. We need to make our own legacy until the last breath of ours. We need to make ourselves helpful in this precious world and make our self proud. And we need to experience the beauty within ourselves and the beauty of the existence of this world.
Creating things since birth through learning from mistakes and good ones are we usually do.
Valuing things from the heart are good to share with others. And executing responsibilities to better serve our surroundings.
"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience." is a quotation from Eleanor Roosevelt, an American political leader. The quotation deal with my life and with my purpose, living the life through experiencing your limits, going beyond to your limits, and doing it without any fear. But when we know our purpose, we should know how to value things correctly.
What I value the most is God and the people that surrounds me. You can not do your purpose if you don't have God by your side. Because the world that we are living has a lot of mishaps and only God will be our only safety, and there are no place that are safer than his place.
"No man is an island." is a quotation where explains that a person can not leave alone. We, humans are only responsible in this world and we know that we can not leave alone and we are the ones that help each other in achieving ones' purpose. Not valuing the people you love is like a child without a parents or a person without any friends because you will not be as you are if they are not here in this world.
The life of yours can be called legacy once you die. Your achievements, your properties, the memories, your goodness, your badness, your wisdom, and yourself can be a legacy. But what If I die? What legacy will I leave? Is it good or bad?
                The properties of mine, my memories with the other people and the things that stand as me are the legacies that I want to leave. For me, it is not about your achievements that you will leave but the memories that you did in your whole life, it doesn't matter if it's bad or good as long as it represents as you as a person living your life with purpose. As the quote says;
"Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy into the minds of others and the stories they share about you." - Shannon L. Alder.

Complicated Life

Hi, I'm John. I'm living in Makati, Philippines for 15 years. And I had so much fun living in this city. I have two real siblings, one brother and one sister. I live with my mother since birth. And I love them so much <3 <3 <3
Since I’m a kid, we are a broken family because my dad had an affair with another woman. That woman got pregnant and had two sons. My half brothers are Andrei and Josef. Well, I had to accept it because at least they are my younger brothers but still, I considered myself as a youngest member of the real family.
So, let’s talk about myself. When I was a kid, I am the ‘not so great’ in our family because my brother and sister are consistently a honor students but then, I tried to study harder and easily got on the rankings. I’ve been Top 7, Top 4, Top 3, Top 2 thrice and Top 1 once and until now, I’m still aiming to be on the top.
I’m very a competitive person because I like to challenge myself with other people and I like to go beyond on my limits. I really love playing volleyball; actually I’m a volleyball player when I was in grade school and until now in our community (barangay); I’m considered as open spiker. I can sing also; actually I’m classified as counter-tenor 1 in my Elementary School Choir back in 2010, 2011, and 2012. I’m once a champion in our barangay singing contest back in 2011. I always perform in our school, and in our compound. I am also a dancer back in 2010 and 2011 in our Elementary School; actually until now. I sing in weddings and dance in birthday parties. I can also draw; actually I placed on Top 10 when I joined LGU's Poster-making contest with a theme of Valentine’s Day.
In the future, I’m planning to choose either to be broadcaster or lawyer but if it’s based on my talent, it’s either singer or dancer. But I want to be a star player in volleyball also. But what I’m most focus in my future, is that I can be a successful person.
